Most of you may know our story, some of you may not. Written in Nichole's version since I don't see Trent sitting down and writing a love story. The picture here is the very first picture we took together. We caught fish that day!
Since social media is the current way of the world, essentially, that is how we met. Friends on Facebook for 3 years before Trent finally made his move. Now, all of my friends are pretty so I found it hard to believe he was interested in the red head. An invite to take me fishing sometime turned into what it is now! I thought " why not, I make another friend in POC that can take us fishing." I think he saw it as " a date." Both having been in the dating pool for quite a while, it needed chlorine and was highly disappointing, what did I have to lose? I took the chance, I drove the 3 hours on a Friday ( January 29, 2021) to meet a stranger. We had only chatted a bit over text before actually meeting in person, never speaking on the phone. He was afraid there was a chance I could have a high pitched mouse voice, I was afraid he would be weird, maybe missing teeth. Instead we hit it off instantly like we had known each other for years. A friend of his showed up right after I did, " to meet the new girl," then two more friends showed up...No pressure. The first friend that showed up joined us on our first date.......and then the second.
I returned every Thursday night , staying until Sunday, making the 3 hour drive weekly. It was not long after that I quit my job, sold most of my world, packed up and moved to live the coastal life with Trent in a town that is about 85% second home, part timers. No Nordstrom, No HomeGoods, No Maudies, No friends. No good hair days. Instead the ocean out my front door, small town, no traffic, new friendships and worth it to be with the person I felt the most loved and safe with instantly. A career change for me, many travels, intertwining friends and family, 2 teenaged girls, a 4 legged best friend, salty life and many memories have been had.
The engagement was a COMPLETE surprise....sure I knew one day it would happen but I heard a constant need for another offshore boat from Trent.. . all I heard was "boat, boat...boat ..bigger boat...offshore boat...new boat....boat...boat." I did not see how a ring would fit into this equation, and then there it was!
We cannot wait to celebrate with all of you in the town we got engaged in , the town we love to visit! Best chance I EVER took. Oh and by the way that friend that went on our first, and second date with us... will be officiating our wedding!
